Citizens is already receiveing bailout money for past claims expenses. This is comletely unfair to the private market, and nothing more than a premium deferral plan for the residents of FL. Citizens does not have adequate reserves to pay claims. All of us will be paying in the form of taxes and assessments. Not one dollar is actually being saved by anyone.

Citizens lowering their rates as a result of the January legislation is comical. They do not buy reinsurance, and are not achieving any savings to pass on to policyholders. They are now looking to protect the massive amounts of government jobs that have been created by lowering their already unsound rates further.

The proposed legislation is a disgrace. Make Citizens more competitive? They are insolvent, and assess their competitors for all of their massive losses. How does one make them "more competitive"?
