I agree with common sense. Alabama's minimum limits are EXTREMELY low. NC's minimum used to be 25/50/15 and has since gone to 30/60/25. You'd be surprised how many claims we handle where our minimum liability limits are not enough! Couple the cost of parts and labor these days with rental expenses and diminished value claims and it certainly wouldn't take much to exceed a PD limit of 10,000.
Alabama's limits, and other's like them, are the primary reason NO driver should elect not to carry uninsured and underinsured motorist coverages on their own personal auto policy.
