well, it's probably because spanking for most folks think is abusive. in proper use, it's not an abuse. even the bible explains that sparing the rod spoils the children. are we so afraid to punish our kids or for that matter punish them at school for bad behavior? we forget many times that they are teaching more than just one child but many. everybody has a right to learn, but distractions or bad behavior does not allow proper learning. my wife is a teacher of kindergartners. many of them never get attention from their parents and don't behave in class. i have attended her class on many occassions. many children in class are being cared for by mothers, whether married or single. most don't have a father figured involved in their lives. in some cases, the kids behave like their fathers treating the females on a lower level. teaching is a great occupation and has many rewards. we tend to forget that they could have been creators in a different field. instead they fell in love with creating young minds. teaching them that 2+2=4 or the a=apple. did we forget how we learned?

key: discipline at home helps the discipline at school. both parents have to work together as a unit not separate entities. working with the teachers, will inspire the young to be creative, to be the next genius, or even the artists of engineering, math or even dance. sometimes i don't think we pay teachers enough at the lower level of schooling.
