I went in for a quote and found that I was required to get flood insurance?? When I had a mortgage I was required to have flood insurance. Now that I don't have a mtg I think that being required to have it is just another cost that is not needed. 3 house down and to the south, my neighbor is not in the flood zone and at a lower elevation. go figure! With Citizens we are not required to have flood ins.
