For what it is worth, I am an independent insurance agent who represents over 15 companies on homeowner's insurance alone. I am not partial to any one company; I simply try to match the insurance risk with a good company at a good rate. Olympus Insurance is one of the companies I represent. I can tell you thus far they have been extremely responsible with the underwriting, inspecting every risk that they write & that is a good thing. Several companies do not do this or are spotty on there inspections at best.
The fact that they are an admitted company is a huge point, as that gives consumers, & agents piece of mind that they will be covered in the event of a claim regardless. Let's not forget that back after Hurricane Andrew, State Farm was technically bankrupt & they are the largest P&C insurer in the country. These companies are insuring against almost unpredictable enormous hurricanes the likes that the industry has never seen.
Also, when you look at the financial ratings right now of All-State, Nationwide & State Farm they all have a B to B- rating here in Florida. For those of you who hang your hat soley on the financial ratings, I strongly encourage you to look at that as well.
In essence be very careful before you throw Olympus or any of the newer companies under the bus. Ultimately, competition & new companies are good for everyone.
If anyone needs help with any homeowner's insurance I write throughout the state of Florida & am always happy to provide a free review of a current policy & a competive alternative quote.
My office number is 727-213-1890 & my e-mail is info@tampabayinsurance.net.
