One last note, if you do speak with another agent or for anyone out there looking for homeowner's insurance, make sure you ask your agent about the uniform wind mitigation credit. Most agents don't take the time to educate clients about this. ALL homes in Florida have the potential to qualify for this discount if their roof meets certain guidelines. We have seen newer roofs (even on older homes) get significant discounts. In fact we have one client with Olympus Ins who is in South Florida & his homeowner's rate went down about 40% after he had inspector come out, fill that form in & we sent it to the company.
