An insurance agent, broker, employee, no not ever! I am a Floridian who along with many of my family and friends have been being squeezed by the insurance industry for the last few years. I have seen my premiums more than double in the last two years, seen my parents more then triple, and seen my brothers go absolutely crazy in the last two years, seen my friends nearly loose their homes because of insurance. Ask me what I knew of insurance a couple of years ago verses what I know to be true now. I have spent many hours researching insurance and have been enlightened this past year how political insurance is. I have met with nearly every Senator in Florida, the Governor, CFO Sink, and have met many rude insurance lobbyist. I have read stock holder reports that tell people how great an investment insurance is and then watched the insurance lobbyist tell Commissioner McCarty how poorly they are doing, I have read how many BILLIONS your CEO's are making and how well the insurance industry finds every loophole in the laws that try to protect people, I have seen 82 year old seniors having to go back to work full-time to afford homes that they have owned for 50 years, I have seen people who have to move from their homes because they couldn't afford to insure them anymore, I have seen you tell people that a $10,000 insurance premium isn't so bad for living in Florida, and lastly I have seen you people find every reason in the book to make people think that what your industry is doing is the right and just thing to do. Profit, isn't that what you all are concerned about? Maybe if your CEO's didn't have the need to make billions then we wouldn't have to loose our homes, and don't give us Floridians the crap about the "BIG ONE", or that your big black boxes say that we will have an increase in hurricanes, it seems you have been wrong now for two years, but then you just say it will happen next year, or the next. Besides if you all really trusted your big black boxes the formulas wouldn't be a secret! I don't fault anyone trying to make a profit but the insurance industry as a whole is grossly over inflated and spend more money trying to find out how not to pay claims then actually helping people, and that about covers all insurances these days. And just for the record I am not a disgruntled insurance person, as I have never filed a claim for house, car, medical, etc. I just have my eyes wide open and have seen what this is doing to people here and it sickens me!
