Subject: Let's Pass The Buck $$$
Did the developer have to submit any type of plans when first proposing the building of this subdivision?
Did the state/county approve the development? Why would the state/county approve a devlopment on an old bombing range?
Did the developer know that the site had been used as a bomb range during WWII?
Did the state/county know that the site had been used as a bomb range during WWII?
If the state/county had known that it had been a bomb range durring WWII, didn't they have the responsibility to advise the developer that the site had been used as a bomb range?
If neither the state/county or the developer knew that the site had been used as a bomb range, how can the developer be held liable?
Bottom line I think the state/county knew and saw this as a oppurtunity to develope some marginal land, furthering the economic development in the state. No thought at all was given by the state to the fact that there may be unexploded ordinance.
