So what if they end up banning cellphone use by older drivers? It is a good idea. Why does anyone need to talk on the phone and drive at the same time? Somewhere I read a statistic that equated the accident rate while talking on a cell phone with driving while impaired.

The phone conversation WILL distract a driver and driving should be a full time job - not incidental to talking.

Granted, there are other distractions, such as putting on makeup (DUH), eating (don't make a mess), even changing the radio cal distract a driver. If an accident occurs when any of the distractions take away the driver's attention I think they should be charged with reckless driving in addition to any other charges that might apply.
