This article is so not true. As late as May 2008, my father in laws insurance on his home went from 98.00 a month pre Katrina to 192.00 per month after Katrina . Now 3 years later is has gone up again to 360.00 per month. That does not sound like we are getting back to pre Katrina rates to me. My homeowners insurance went from 88.00 per month pre Katrina to 165.00 per month. I'm afraid to see what it will be when my policy renews in July 2008. Even if you did not have a claim for Katrina our insurance commisioners agreed to let insurance companies raise rates 87%. And they took full advantage of this at our expense. What about all the premiums I paid for 25 years wihout one claim. I'm ready to leave Mississippi for good and not regret it one bit.
