I am trying to purchase a home in Mississippi. The insurance quotes I have been able get, since most companies will not even write policies im Mississippi, are in the $3,500.00 to $4,500.00 a year. This would add about $300.00 a month to my house payment wich I am not willing to swallow. Because of this, Mississippi will not receive my tax revenues. I have found a house just over in Alabama and the insurance is less than half of that in Mississippi.
