It would be useful to know the Time & Location of the Public Hearing. Could someone post this info, please?
As a Licensed Masters-level Mental Health clinician, I suspected that a Raleigh, NC Psychiatrist, Michael Golding, and his company, Psych Support, Inc., were involved in fraudulent billing practices, and unethical treatment of Mental Health clients. Psych Support also contracted with a Clinical Social Worker whose license was permanently revoked in 2005. She was providing therapy to Psych Support, Inc. clients up to, and including in 2007! In April/May, 2008, Psych Support, Inc. was investigated by the Federal agency who oversees the Medicaid & Medicare programs. In a letter dated May 19, 2008, from the Safeguard contract agency who audited Psych Support, they state that the review of Psych Support, Inc. has been completed. They also state, "This investigation has been referred to the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services' Program Integrity Department for review." Information such as this should be a matter of public record, ESPECIALLY regarding Psychiatrists. Providers such as Psych Support, Inc. are one of the reasons why The N.C. State Plan for Mental Health reform was recently admitted by to be a failure the NC Dept. of Health & Human Services. Not all, but Many of the private Mental Health companies seem to care more about Profit than about the welfare of the clients they are teating, with mental illness. I discovered that Dr. Golding & Psych Support, Inc. has had at least one prior suit brought against him and his company, which he settled quietly by payment. The MD Oath, "DO NO HARM" also applies to Psychiatrists, (does it not)? I hope and pray that the Psych Support Mental Health clients were not harmed for the sake of Greed and Profit (the funding for such, coming from the pockets of North Carolina taxpayers). Sincerely /Regrettably Submitted, by A Concerned N.C. Mental Health Provider and an outraged Client/Patient Advocate.
