Consumer reports, your states Insurance Commissioners office and Attorney General, and the better business bureau all provide objective information about claims service. Also, in my neighborhood there has been a lot of talk about being 'green', about conservation, about gorebal warming, etc. The idea being we should economize as much as possible our energy use and along with that support local business. In doing so you keep dollars in your neighborhood, and help your local economy. Why send your dollars to some other town, state or country (Zurich comes to mind) when your neighbors (probably) need all the help they can get, especially now? Lastly, when we talk about claim service, I believe one gets the best service from somebody in their 'hood' because that agent is accountable in his 'hood'. Now if the agent is a deadbeat, then that doesnt fly. But we owe it to our neighbors to try and support them, just as we would like them to support us. I try to live that myself, shopping when I can at the local businesses instead of ordering online or buying at the mall.
