The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol says it issued more than 5,000 tickets over the Fourth of July weekend.
The counting period began at 6 p.m. July 3 and ended late July 6.

As far as traveling through MS, I would be very cautious if I were going through.... especially if I were speeding, drinking, not wearing a seatbelt and had my kids unrestrained all at the same time!!!!!
