My spouse was one of these accidents. However, it was not his fault. A truck was backing out of a long driveway onto a mail road and did not even look. My husband saw the guy, felt something was wrong, like the guy was not looking and ended up in the ditch going heels over heard. The truck drove off and we believe he never knew what happened. My husband was air lifted to local hospital where he had head trauma, broke 4 ribs, shoulder and his back. He was wearing full head gear with face mask. It was cracked on the left side about 3 inches. The accidents are not necessarily the fault of the cyclist. Auto drivers need to be more cautious, look twice, slow down and learn better manners! I would like to know the number of auto accidents in comparison to auto drivers against the same for motor cycles.
