We Duke professors made a huge mistake. We trusted that the devil we didnt know was more believable than the 40 blue devils we did know. In other words we took the word of a stripper/hooker over the word(s) of 40 young men who we had actually evaluated personally and admitted to Duke after a lengthy application process. These young men had accountability on multiple levels, and actually had something to lose. The stripper had nothing to lose, only something to gain. So, I am volunteering on behalf of myself and my fellow academcians to cover the expense of the lawsuit in an effort to regain the trust of the students and their parents.
