IJ should know better than to slant this article as a rate hike which sounds very bad. If Citizens had been allowed to raise rates 3 years ago as needed there would be 25% fewer people insured by Citizens and the market would most likely be healthier. Instead Citizens continues to be cheaper therfore more people end up there. Insured by a carrier that has NO viable resources to pay claim in a cat situation other than to pass on assessments to everyone else after the fact. I believe a better name for this headline would be " Governor finally realizes his error and signs the bill that will help stabilize Citizens and improve the health of the Florida marketplace. Come on if it were not for price who would want to be insured by Citizens, and after the storm who will want to be insured by them??
