As a student in the financial services market, I know and understand (don't read that as my agreement) the ideas--and their implementations--of insurance coverage of any kind in the US. The Beach Plan is a sterling example of how the insurance industry in this country has pedaled the false idea of safety and security and become one of the most profitable industries in history. (Remember AIG?) I am at complete odds with the idea that out of my pocket should come subsidies to those who insist on building their houses on *sand*. For me, this whole, flawed Plan needs to be soundly rebuked, revised, and reimplemented as something that will FAIRLY ask from those with higher risks to pay whatever their share is. If they cannot afford to insure a MacMansion or an oceanfront cottage, then perhaps they shouldn't build or buy one.

If you don't want to take a bullet, then don't stand in the line of fire!
