Our government should provide basic services to all of us regardless of race, creed, color, religious or sexual orientation. Those services should include defense (military and police), economic (federal reserve, treasury, SEC, etc), and education. The government has no business legislating morality or religion. If insurance companies are willing to provide this coverage for domestic partners, then domestic partners ought to be able to receive those benefits.
Uncle Sam, Aunt Janet..please handle the important issues, not make mountains out of molehill issues.
