To put it short and sweet, this constant attack by the Department of Insurance against all Insurance Brokers is getting very old and tiring. I for one, am so weary of trying to prove myself innocent of something I am not guilty of and never have been. I am slao tired of being made to feel like a business person who takes advantage of her clients.

I have been in business for over 11 years, and written thousands of policies. My business practices are above the board on issues such as honesty, integrity and dislosure. In all honesty, most of my clients love myself and my employees. They are our friends and neighbors. I have over half of my business in refferrals.

PLEASE! I have only had (I believe) Three complaints to the department in all of this time. In fact the most complaining I have is from clients who can't stand all of the paper work they ALREADY have to sign, required by the department. Half the time they interrupt to say..Just tell me where to sign....... Of course much of our paperwork is neccessary, but come on ..how many of the emloyees of the department have to disclose their income and how they make it to the public???

Broker fee's are one thing, but the commissions paid to us by the insurance companies???

The department is, as this article says, going after all, for the misconduct of a VERY FEW.

Don't get me started on all of the other proffessions in which we pay commissions to sales people and are totally unaware.
I respect the departments regard for protecting the consumer , but I wonder if our Insurance Commissioner knows the how much the sales person made that sold him his last suit?? How about his last vehicle??
