For the people that responded "it's just life" I wonder if you are a local? Or if your child's EDUCATION (that's what school is all about) is at risk? I have lived all over the US and I have NEVER encountered such racism-at such early ages- in fact. I have lived in the north- east and also in the south. This does not happen there. My children are bi-racial and were taught that we are all equal. But when faced with bullies on a daily basis from a particular culture, it's hard to teach them to treat others with respect. I have a daughter in middle school that has not been bullied personally but is fully aware of the open racism and bullying at school. There is a difference in "life" and being bullied. If you were "bullied" at your adult jobs, it wouldn't be call bullied - it would be harrassment or racism. Why is this so widely accepted in this culture? I am soon to be homeschooling. Parents- You are failing the school system! Schools can's raise your children. You have to do it whether you work 3 jobs or not! Your children are STILL your responsibility and always will be. So when they have a criminal record at the age of 12, be willing to admit you are at fault. Don't get all defensive just because your kids are the ones doing the bullying. Do something about it. Don't defend it.
