Subject: Torn on the issue...
However, I agree with California's decision to make medical use of marijuana legal.
But... I do NOT want to share the roads with people driving to or from work after smoking pot, just like I don't want to share the roads with people driving drunk or taking painkillers. And at the same time, I don't want all these people (many of whom are not permanently disabled) sitting at home and drawing disability just because they can't drive while they're medicated.
It's a dilemma. People with chronic pain or illnesses shouldn't have to suffer. And if they're willing and able to work, that's great. But how are they supposed to get to and from work in a safe and reasonable manner?
I realize a lot of these folks only need a small dose to manage their pain, but doesn't that affect their motor skills to a measurable degree? What about judgment and reaction?
What say the rest of you?
