(warning, sarcasm ahead) That is the true reason I deplore the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When a solid, upstanding, law-abiding American citizen can not readily and easily purchase hundreds of rounds of ammunition for his assault rifle at a fair and decent price, something is wrong with this world and we must stand up to face it.
