While the housing market is truly the heart of a slowing economy. Insurance Agents and Brokers need to do something different in order to attract and retain clients. Agents and Brokers who continue to do the same thing, the same way will suffer the consequences of watching thier book of business shrink.
Agents and Brokers that have been in the business (10, 20, 30 years) sit on a gold mine of opportunity in the data they have collected. If that data is properly maintained and then marketed, growth can be the result of a constricting economy. It is time to re-visit every client to help them determine if they have other potential insurance needs. It is also time for the Agents and Brokers to re-educate themselves on what they sell. The insurance license is an opportunity, its time to take advantage of the opportunity and do the right thing for our clients.
