Subject: RE: Cats and Dogs Do not belong in Cars and Pick Ups
Plus, not all dog parks are within walking distance from a person's home. Again, have to transport the dog by some means.
I think the animal should be secured within the vehicle in some fashion, so it can't get tangled in the driver's feet or distract the driver. But I think there's nothing wrong with putting my cat in her crate and buckling the crate into the back seat if I need to take her somewhere.
Having animals loose in the bed of a pick up is another issue entirely. Having any unsecured cargo in the bed of one's truck is careless and foolish whether it's a dog, tools, trash cans or kids.
