Not only will it raise insurance premiums for mileage increase, it will increase cost for insurance companies sending people to collections. "Okay so you underestimated your annual mileage by 10,000 miles. Please send us a check for $250 for the additional miles for the last 6 months." Not everyone will pay it. They'll go to another carrier while the first carrier sends them to collections. Plus it just opens up another door for fraud. "Let's disconnect our odometer cable for 3 months." I have to admit the CA insurance commish is an idiot! The sad thing is people are eating it up. Bigger government, more hand outs, more taxes, we're in for a treat....well our kids or grandkids are. I'd rather be part of Canada then Mexico when we belly up.
