It is hard to believe that a Mr Hopkins would treat "family" that way. My ex office partner left FIG in 2002 and went to Mercury Ins and did NOT take the contract value, as he wanted to take his clients. This last year he made $250,000 and got a $90,000 "profitability bonus" (his 3rd bonus) on top. It only took 20 years with FIG to get a whooping $120,000 contract value, that was decreasing every year. In only 5 years he is making 2 times the annual income PLUS gets a BONUS for being profitable AND has no production or life quotas !! Your son may have lucked out by leaving FIG and FIG usually looses these lawsuits but, it does take a while.
