It's great that they are slimming down and becoming more cost efficient. But at what cost? Customer service, quality, enforcement? Many state insurance departments are self-funded so they cost the state nothing. However, they generate lots of revenue. So why cut back and reduce an Agency that doesn't cost the state anything but does generate lots of revenue while performing an important public service? Now that they're eliminated the fat maybe they should expand and add more muscle to do even more good.
