Re: Start up cost for a new agent

If you want to get into business you need to do a business plan as in the case for any business. Figure on the high end of expenses for a year and a half to two years with little revenue coming in. If you are to make it in most businesses you need $35,000 to $50,000 plus the ability to take care of ...

Re: National Agents Alliance? Legit or Keep Away?

After reading a number of these posts does any decently smart insurance person think that this is the answer to more income? OMG...it doesn't take a genius to figure out exactly what is going on here. Expensive leads, a 'system' and sales funnel that is more of a Mary Kay program than anything else ...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

From original poster: Thank you for all the comments, court citations (especially useful) and suggestions! We have very clearly produced a document which the customer signs/initials and we copy the signed doc for our files, and they get this with a verbal summary along with other policy application,...

Re: Adding Value? Who Cares? And, who gets mad?

The customer is never going to be happy when they hear less than stellar news...plus they hear what they want to hear: aka selective hearing. The attorney was probably trying to bait the agent also as he was going on a fishing expedition making the client hopeful that their legal costs may be taken ...

Insurance aggregators/Groups for personal lines

Who has experience with the many different Insurance Aggregators, their fees, ease of binding applications/endorsements and the number of insurance companies available to get quotes through? I've looked at many of them and find ISU to have the most insurers available through the company and more thr...

Re: Insurance Noodle vs. Superior Access vs. Agent Secure

I too would love to hear of a good alternative to ISU. I've looked at many aggregators too and considering one of two to join this next month...Iroquois Southwest or ASNOA. If you have another alternative to ISU with many insurers to connect with, I would love to hear of it! tsfc2065@yahoo.com thank...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

From original person who posted this thread: Don't forget...if you do reach out to any customer then you are then binding yourself legally to reach out to all customers. We are always told not to from our national organizations and their legal opinionated people, because if you usually do, and a cu...

Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

Does anyone have court citations and other authoritative information showing that insurance agents have NO legal duty to inform the insured that their policy is set to cancel or has cancelled? We're always being told by IIABA and other legal opinions by industry publications, but now I need to put m...
