Re: Bankruptcy

You should discuss this with an attorney as a forum board isn't the best place for legal advice

Re: Drive other car

If the vehicle is registered to the LLC, and not the corporation, you may have a problem. If there is no majority interest in both the corporation and LLC (i.e. wife owns 51% or more of both), then the insurance on the corporation may not extend to cover the LLC.

Re: Liberty Mutual

At least here in Texas, Liberty Mutual started re-valuing the replacement cost of dwellings - usually increasing their "valuation" 25-50% with no real explanation (a bit of research showed they were using Marshall Swift as guidance and putting everyone into the most expensive category possible). i.e...

Re: WC Market MLR Risk bad Losses

The one thing you need to ask of your client first, before approaching ANY insurance carrier - what level of commitment will they have at implementing any loss control recommendations to help address their loss history?

Re: Certs - when will agents all get on the same page

I would hate to tell you how many times I have to explain to an insurance agent how to properly fill out a COI to evidence the correct insurance coverages.

'course...I work in risk management and have 25 years of insurance background and paid attention in all the classes I took.

Re: Liability exposure co-signing for auto loan

They have the same liability as their grandson. i.e. if their grandson causes an accident, they can be sued also, since their name is on the loan and the title. They should also be named on the insurance policy their grandson has, and make sure that there are adequate liability limits.

Re: She gave me proof of insurance, but I am NOT insured...?

Let me guess - it was a State Farm, Farmers or Allstate agent that coverage was placed with, and not an "independent agent", right?

Re: Workers comp ghost policy

What sort of entity does this person have? i.e. is it a LLC, S Corp, etc. If it is a LLC, the LLC can purchase W/C and the "members" (owners of the LLC) would be covered for W/C. Without this coverage, the GC could be responsible for any injuries suffered by your client - no matter what sort of waiv...

Why not ask the underwriter what they're referring to? 'course...knowing what type of insurance, what you submitted, etc. might also help answer your question (i.e. provide more details)

Re: I was hired as CSR; now owner demands I be a producer

In reply to 3blackbelt,...Your reply was demeaning. Yes...yes it was. A "producer" goes out to get new business for the agency. A CSR is normally tasked with maintaining current accounts, upselling (adding needed coverages where there is a gap) and sometimes quoting new business. Asking you as a CS...

Re: I was hired as CSR; now owner demands I be a producer

Perhaps the agent who you are working for is trying to place you in the position that works best for the agency. . I remember one agency I worked for where I wanted to see my career move in one direction, and one of the principals said something like that - I wanted to move into the employee benefi...

Re: I was hired as CSR; now owner demands I be a producer

How big is this agency? i.e. do they have other CSR's that are now "producers"? Do they have anyone else who's job duty is that of a "producer"? Most small to mid-sized insurance agencies (up to 50 employees) usually have specific job descriptions. CSR's are usually tasked with "up-selling" accounts...

Re: Thrid Party Cert Managment Wants to Be cert holder

I'm assuming that, since you're dealing with a large national construction company, there are insurance requirements built into the Agreement form. Ask for a copy of those insurance requirements because that's what dictates your client is obligated to provide. Anything beyond that - "NUTS"
