Until or unless you're a big producer with these MGA's, there's no reason for them to put out any effort beyond the minimum because their business model just won't allow it.
If you've got risks that are 'one step beyond' and you don't have direct appointments that can take the time to chat, then I can only suggest the Surplus Lines Marketplace, where rules are made to be broken and everything has a price and a place.
