Old National, Gettings Reed Financial

Indiana-based Old National Insurance (ONI) has finalized a deal to acquire the employee benefits book of business from Gettings Reed Financial, headquartered in Lafayette, Ind.

Don Carless, employee benefits consultant with Gettings Reed, will join the ONI team, allowing him to continue to service clients whose accounts are transitioning to ONI.

Old National Insurance is a wholly owned subsidiary of Old National Bancorp. It is headquartered in Indianapolis and has offices across the Midwest.

Everts Tremaine Flicker, Keystone Insurers Group

Cleveland, Ohio-based agency, The Evarts Tremaine Flicker Co., has joined Pennsylvania-based Keystone Insurers Group as KIG’s 29th partner in Ohio.

Founded in 1844, Evarts Tremaine Flicker is Cleveland’s oldest independent insurance agency. It is currently owned by Marty Striegl and John Hannon.

Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Northumberland, Pa., KIG is owned by its franchise partners and employees in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

York Risk Services Group, Avizent

York Risk Services Group (York), a national provider of claims-management, specialized loss adjusting, insurance pool administration and other insurance services, has acquired Dublin, Ohio-based Avizent. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Avizent, a national third party administrator, provides claims management services, managed care services, alternative risk financing options and a variety of loss control services to clients ranging from public entities, self-insured clients and carriers.

York acquired Advizent from KRG Capital Partners (KRG), a Denver-based private equity firm. Private equity firm ABRY Partners LLC provided capital for the transaction, according to the companies’ announcements.

York is based in Parsippany, N.J., and has more than 1,200 employees nationwide.

Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance

The Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA) in November 2011 added five new member insurance agencies located in the Midwest. New agency members in the Midwest are: Epic Insurance Agency of Solon, Ohio; Raymond F. Trout of Clayton, Mo.; Republic Underwriters of Clawson, Mich.; TCB Transportation Insurance of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Schoen Insurance Agency of Charlotte, Mich.

Since its inception in 1995, SIAA has signed more than 3,900 new members.
