Republicans still have to pick their candidate for North Carolina insurance commissioner after cutting the field to two.
Richard Morgan and Mike Causey topped a three-candidate field on May 8 to advance to a runoff election this summer. The winner will face incumbent Democrat Wayne Goodwin.
Causey, of Greensboro, is a former insurance agent and political consultant who failed in three elections to unseat former Commissioner Jim Long.
Richard Morgan is an insurance broker and former House co-speaker who ran four years ago for state schools superintendent and in 2010 for state Senate.
