Increasing participation in continuing education events and presenting interesting monthly events are the 2006 goals of the Florida Suncoast Chapter of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, according to Susan Granata, president.
At the Jan. 9 meeting, Bill Perkins, a Florida Association of Insurance Agents instructor, spoke on “Certificates of Insurance: The Second Most Dangerous Piece of Paper.”
“CPCU sent out an open invitation to business owners, contractors, risk managers and insurance personnel to attend this event and the response was phenomenal,” Granata said.
The Feb. 13 speaker will be Don Hurzeler, executive vice president, Zurich Insurance Co., presenting “View from the Top.”
Future events: March 13, “Ethics,” Michele Schrotter, Bouchard Insurance Co.; June 5, “Florida Legislature and Florida Insurance,” Leslie Waters, District 51 Florida House Representa-tive; and May 8, “The Leaders of Tomorrow Are Here Today,” Betsey Brewer, Rule Co. senior vice president.
