Worldwide Facilities has appointed Bob McAuley as regional president. He is based out of the company’s Atlanta office.

Prior to joining Worldwide Facilities, McAuley spent the past five years with RT Specialty in Atlanta. McAuley was a founder of McAuley Woods & Associates, a property and casualty wholesale insurance broker firm, for 12 years prior to their sale to RT Specialty in 2010.

Worldwide Facilities is a national wholesale insurance broker and managing general agent.

Florida-based homeowners insurance provider, Security First Insurance Co., has promoted Melissa Burt DeVriese to chief administrative officer. DeVriese will also retain her title of general counsel.

With this promotion, DeVriese is responsible for administrative and corporate governance matters, real estate and facilities, and human resources. She oversees security, organizational development, and compliance departments.

“As our premium grows toward the $500 million mark, we are required to meet certain regulatory requirements and Melissa is well-suited to lead the development of the company’s new compliance department. In her new role, she will also now oversee human resources, executive administration, and the company’s plan to build and move into a new headquarters in Volusia County within the next three years,” said Locke Burt, chairman and president, Security First Insurance.

DeVriese began her career working as an associate attorney at Foley & Lardner, LLP. She served as legislative counsel to U.S. Representative Sam Graves and was the primary attorney to the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington, D.C.

W.R. Berkley Corp. has appointed David A. Dunn as president and chief executive officer of its trucking insurance specialist, Carolina Casualty.

Dunn has 40 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance industry, principally in the specialty transportation segment. Most recently, he has served as president of the transportation division of the U.S. specialty insurer RLI since 1997.

W. Robert Berkley, Jr., president and CEO of W. R. Berkley Corp., said Dunn’s experience in specialized insurance operations will enable Carolina to apply its capabilities “across a broader range of classifications within this market,” as well as to further enhance its current products and services.

Based in Jacksonville, Fla., Carolina Casualty specializes in liability, physical damage and motor truck cargo insurance for local, intermediate and long-haul truckers for more than 65 years.

Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. (BSA), headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., has promoted Daniel Knick to the position of senior claim representative in its Occupational Injury Unit.

Knick’s new responsibilities include increased oversight of reviewing, processing and handling occupational accident claims, and determining claims coverage and extent of liability.

Knick joined BSA in June 2014 as a claim representative III. Previously, Knick was a claim service adjuster for Allstate Insurance in Nashville. Knick graduated from Belmont University in Nashville with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.

Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. provides claims management and loss control services to employers and employer associations with self-insured and large deductible programs for workers’ compensation and other casualty lines.

Allied American Underwriters (AAU), a division of USG Insurance Services, Inc., has hired Valarie MacDonald as producer/broker, and Denise Brown as production assistant. In addition to these new hires, AAU has promoted Dasha Casey to producer/broker. All three will be based in Jacksonville, Fla.

MacDonald brings over 16 years of commercial insurance experience to AAU’s Florida team. Most recently, she worked as commercial lines account manager at Cecil W. Powell. Prior to that position, she worked as an underwriter with US Assure on its premise pollution & commercial storage tank pollution product.

Brown has 10 years of experience in commercial insurance. She most recently held the position of hazard claims documentation specialist with Mortgage Specialist International in Jacksonville, and previously worked as commercial pollution service rep with US Assure.

Casey started her insurance career in 2001 with ZIS Insurance Services, which later became US Assure. Casey joined AAU as production assistant when AAU acquired US Assure’s commercial storage tanks and dealer storage tanks’ books of business.

AAU is a specialty product provider and commercial lines program manager. It currently has four divisions: Workers Compensation, Programs, Garage, and Environmental.
