PCI opens Denver office to serve five western states

The Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI) has appointed Kelly Campbell as the regional manager of its newly opened office in Denver.

Campbell will serve PCI members and address state legislative and regulatory issues affecting the property/casualty insurance industry. Before joining PCI, Campbell spent eight years at State Farm Insurance where she held positions in legislative and public affairs and company operations. She has had personal lines experience handling auto claims and homeowners underwriting.

“Colorado has become more politically tumultuous for property/casualty insurers since the sunset of the no-fault auto insurance system in July 2003,” said John Lobert, PCI senior vice president, state legislative affairs. “Kelly’s experience provides her with an understanding of the market and the legislative process. Her presence in the new Denver office, will give PCI a stronger presence in this area, which allows us to better serve our members and advance their interests at the statehouse.”

“Colorado has had a hotbed of issues, particularly auto insurance,” Campbell added. “We want to maintain the tort system that we do have here. Other big issues are we want to maintain the ability to use credit. Also, we do foresee workers’ comp legislation, and we want to maintain the healthy market we have here in Colorado.”

In addition to heading the Denver office, Campbell said she will oversee issues for PCI in a five-state region that includes Colorado, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming and New Mexico.
