Charitable nonprofit organizations will soon have access to a new risk retention group called Alliance of Nonprofits for Insurance Risk Retention Group. The alliance was recently licensed in Vermont and offers charitable nonprofit groups up to $1 million in primary coverage for a wide range of liability risks, including general, miscellaneous professional, directors and officers, improper sexual conduct and commercial auto. Up to $10 million in umbrella coverage is also available.
The RRG is initially offering coverage to charitable groups in Colorado, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Nevada and Virginia. It expects to write its first policies by June.
