Homesite, which started in 1997, now operates in 24 states, reaching around 56 percent of the insurable households in the U.S. It specializes in on-line contact for homeowners, condominium owners and renters insurance through its “Apply-’n-Buy (TM) proprietary insurance technology.” It estimates that it typically takes renters and condominium owners five minutes to complete processing of an application, and ten minutes for homeowners.
