Joseph A. Bishop III, CPIA, of Branford was elected VP of Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Inc.(PIACT) during the association’s annual convention at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket.
The delegates also named SAFECO Insurance Co. Sales Representative Glen Tiziani as the recipient of the “Professional of the Year” award.
The announcement stated that “Bishop is vice president and secretary of Associated Insurance Agencies Inc. in Hamden.” He joined PIACT in 1989, and has been active in association affairs, serving as treasurer in 2001-2002. He is a member of the Industry Affairs and the Executive/Budget and Finance committees, a member of the Southeast Advisory Council, and an active past president of PIACT’s Young Insurance Professionals organization, “a premier association for professional development in the insurance industry.”
Tiziani was selected on the basis of his outstanding record, said the announcement. SAFECO Insurance Co. has honored him for his professionalism and for his sales achievement with numerous awards since his hire in 1999. “He was the recipient of the Prudential Gold Record in Sales Achievement, ” the bulletin stated, and is working to obtain the CPCU designation. He is “an ongoing contributor at his company’s community involvement projects.”
