New York Superintendent of Insurance Gregory Serio announced that the state insurance department has received the The New York State Forum for Information Resource Management of the Rockefeller Institute of Government’s ‘Best of the Web’ Award in the state category as part of the Forum’s Annual Best Practice and Achievement awards.
“We are honored to receive the Best of the Web Award bestowed by the Rockefeller Institute of Government. The Award acknowledges the Department’s Web site as an outstanding information management resource,” said Serio. “The Department gladly accepts this great honor on behalf of 1,500 Insurance Department employees and I would specifically like to congratulate Salvatore Castiglione, Assistant Deputy Superintendent, and Ronald Minafri, Deputy Superintendent and the staffs of the Consumer Services/Licensing and Systems Bureaus for their tireless work to provide insurance agents and brokers a comprehensive, consumer friendly Web site. And I reaffirm the Department’s commitment to provide easily accessible, high quality information to our constituents via our Web site.”
The Best of the Web Award specifically recognizes local and state government Web sites that provide well designed useful Web sites for their respective constituents. The Department was honored for its electronic licensing of insurance agents and brokers. The Department of Motor Vehicles was also awarded Best of the Web.
