U.S. Risk Insurance Group announced the opening of a new office in Avon, Connecticut, of its subsidiary, Alternative Insurance Xchange, an alternative risk transfer company that will develop captives and self insurance programs, in addition to offering managing general agent services in support of U. S. Risk’s business products.
Bob Schultz will serve as President of the new company with Ron Mairano and Russ Renvyle as Senior Vice Presidents. “All three gentlemen bring extensive alternative risk placement experience to our company and will significantly broaden the scope of products and services available to the U. S. Risk customer,” said the bulletin.
U.S. Risk Insurance Group, Inc. is a specialty lines underwriting manager and wholesale broker headquartered in Dallas with branch offices in Austin, Albuquerque, Avon, Bermuda, Houston, Lafayette, London, Nashville, New Orleans, Scottsdale, Portland, Providence and Trenton with 2002 premiums in excess of $335 million. Its nine operating divisions provide underwriting, brokerage, premium finance, financial services, risk management and claims management services through a network of 120 insurance companies.
