The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. announced David Delaney, president and chief executive officer of Lancer Insurance Group, will receive the 2004 Long Island RAP Executive of the Year award.
The formal presentation will take place April 22 at the PIANY Long Island Regional Awareness Program’s annual awards luncheon, to be held at Leonard’s of Great Neck, Great Neck, N.Y.
The Executive of the Year award recognizes an individual from an insurance company, general agency or managing general agency who has forged a strong working relationship with agents and brokers in the insurance industry.
Delaney has been president of the Lancer Insurance Group since he and his brother founded the company in 1982. Lancer has become one of the largest specialty, commercial automobile insurers.
Delaney’s background includes 30 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance with such companies as American International Group, American Re-Insurance Co. and American Risk Management.
PIANY is a trade association representing professional, independent insurance agencies, brokerages and their employees throughout the state.
