Nearly 100 independent insurance agents and industry professionals from across New Hampshire took part in the Professional Insurance Agents of New Hampshire Inc.’s annual conference in Concord, N.H. on May 19.
“The marketplace and rates are beginning to stabilize in most lines of
business,” said PIANH President Jeffrey Foy. “In gathering with colleagues from across the state I think there’s a drive, an optimism, that continues to make independent agents the vehicle of choice for procuring insurance.”
New Hampshire Insurance Department Commissioner Roger Sevigny caught a red-eye home from London the night before the conference to give keynote luncheon address. Sevigny was abroad to work out the details of the Home Insurance Co.’s liquidation, which also has a substantial presence in the United Kingdom.
“My number one priority as New Hampshire’s insurance commissioner is company solvency,” he stressed.
Sevigny also noted his efforts to keep a pulse on what is going on with the industry at the state level, asking agents to continue to be the eyes and ears of the market.
