Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage, Inc., one of the largest independent insurance agencies in the U.S., has acquired MVI Insurance Group and The Lambert Agency located in Martha's Vineyard, Mass.

Rhode Island-based Starkweather & Shepley has offices in East Providence and Westerly. The firm also operates a subsidiary company, RISCO, Inc., an excess and surplus line broker specializing in hard-to-place risks, and is a partner of Assurex Global.
