Paul T. Tetrault will represent the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies as state affairs manager for the Northeast from a base near Boston.
Tetrault, an attorney and former editor of The Standard, an insurance trade wekly, will advocate on behalf of NAMIC members before state legislatures and departments of insurance in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
“Paul’s arrival and headquartering in Massachusetts enhances our ability to serve both our regionally domiciled companies and those that write nationally,” said Roger H. Schmelzer, senior vice president for state and regulatory affairs department.
Tetrault served as editor of The Standard from 1995 to 2003. He practiced law at Melick, Porter & Shea, LLP in Boston, where he concentrated on litigation defense and insurance coverage.
Former Northeast State Affairs Manager Tami Stanton will assume advocacy responsibilities in the Midwest and elsewhere.
