New England auto insurer, Plymouth Rock Assurance Corp., has partnered with WBUR, Boston’s National Public Radio affiliate, to offer a discounted auto insurance rate to WBUR’s Massachusetts members.
Listeners who contribute $60 or more to WBUR will receive a WBUR Member Card, which entitles them to benefits including a 10 percent discount on auto insurance with Plymouth Rock. This discount is available through all Plymouth Rock agents in Massachusetts.
The WBUR group discount program began in early November, and is being promoted by Plymouth Rock via radio spots on WBUR, as well as advertising in select local newspapers. Additional support is available to Plymouth Rock agents who wish to promote the program locally.
Plymouth Rock President Hal Belodoff emphasized that the new program features benefits designed to appeal to today’s busy, sophisticated consumers.
“WBUR members share our view that the station provides an essential public service through its in-depth coverage of news and issues. Now the contribution listeners provide to WBUR also delivers a tangible benefit in return,” he said. “We think the station’s well-informed listeners will really appreciate the exceptional service, convenience, and savings offered to them exclusively by Plymouth Rock.”
Mark Sweeney, Plymouth Rock’s vice president of marketing, said the new program will also give its agents a competitive edge.
