Although this bill stands to help the worker, what about those cases that are tied up with the Insurance company that is out of state?
My brother injured his back 6 years ago and has had two surgeries. Neither one took care of the pain. Although he had a note from the doctor to the company for them not to put him back to operating a specific machine, they did anyways. His disk blew, more surgery with a cage that didn’t take the pain away. He’s now been out of work for 4 years, they’ve taken his insurance away and he’s in horrific pain. He has a good lawyer, but the read tape is horrendous. Can anyone shed light on what he can do? Since he has no insurance he can’t take his heart medication which the ins. co. knows. We think they are just waiting for him to have a heart attack and die. It’s a horrible way to live, animals don’t get treated this way. Greater New York ins. won’t even approve pain management.
