Vermont law enforcement agencies fighting Internet crimes against children are getting some help from the federal government.

U.S. Attorney Tom Anderson says the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will receive a $250,000 grant from the Justice Department.

The Internet crimes task forces are a response to the growing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child pornography and online activity by child predators.

The Vermont task force has been conducting public outreach, training and prosecuting crimes.

The new money will help continue that and expand to include a statewide, multi-agency computer forensic lab.
