Delaware’s Sussex County Recorder of Deeds John Brady is officially in the race for state insurance commissioner.
Brady is running as a Republican and launched his campaign last week with appearances in all three counties.
He predicts health insurance will be the biggest issue in the upcoming election, and says his 12 years of experience drafting legislation as a House attorney has prepared him.
He wrote a bill last year that would allow small businesses to participate in the state group health insurance program. That bill is awaiting committee action.
Three Democratic candidates are in the race. Incumbent Democrat Matthew Denn, who assumed the officie in 2005, is running for lieutenant governor.
Brady is the son of former New Castle County Register of Wills John Brady.
