A Philadelphia developer has revised its plans to build a residential skyscraper at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
ArcWheeler now plans to use most of the space for offices. Partner John Voneiff says a deal with an anchor tenant is expected to be announced within two months.
The tower would be 650 feet high, making it the tallest skyscraper in Baltimore. Plans call for it to be built on two acres along Light Street.
When ArcWheeler acquired the property more than a year ago, it planned to build a hotel on the lower levels and about 280 condominium units on the upper floors.
Voneiff says the changes in the residential market led to a new plan that he says is more attractive to investors. The building would have 600,000 square feet of office space and about 50 loft apartments.
